Explanation:
One day a group of Innu were camped on this lake where they had killed caribou. They had caribou blood in a pot. A group of Inuit from Hopedale visited the camp and one of them stuck his fingers in the pot to taste the blood. From then on, the Innu called this man Kashupasset ('The One Who Licks') and they named the lake after him.
